Visual Studio Source edit problem

Visual Studio Source edit problem

The last few days I have been getting an intermittent/occasional problem editing Fortran source files in Visual studio.

The edit window appears to be unresponsive but what is actually happing is that input is appearing at the top of the file (after any comments but before the first Fortran statement - i.e. just above the first "-" for the outlining) and not at the current cursor position. If I then close the file (it saves OK) an error box appears with:

"Visual Studio has encountered an exception. This my be caused by an extension".  If I open the file again it works OK until the problem "randomly" strikes again.

I am using VS2010 shell and using the latest versions of Fortran. This problem has been evident since I installed the latest updates.

Anyone else seen this and/or got and ideas?

This symptom is not familiar to me. Have you installed VS2010 SP1?

This problem went away but is now randomly striking again from time to time.I am still on VS2010 shell and up to date with updates....

My usual suggestion here - uninstall Fortran, delete the Intel Fortran folder under Visual Studio 10.0, reinstall Fortran. You don't need to uninstall VS Shell. This sometimes fixes weird problems.
