Is VTune useable for embedded system analysis?

Its not clear to me, watching the demos, whether VTune can be used for performance analysis of systems that use Intel processors for embedded products. The embedded platform and software build server are different machines, although both run Linux. Can VTune attach to a remote system, much like gdb can attach to a remote gdb server?I'm looking for the best way to extract the Intel PMU data from the embedded system for analysis.

For more complete information about compiler optimizations, see our Optimization Notice.

Well, it depends on the Linux flavour running on the target system.
There is no remote collection in generalsense. Instead, you need to install collectors on the target OS, collect results, and then copy them to the host system for analysis.

What if the remote system would be an android device?
Is it possible to install the collector and run it on the target?
