Multiple configurations for 1 symbology type in MCA

Multiple configurations for 1 symbology type in MCA

Is it possible in MCA to support multiple configurations for filtering out data that is being scanned by the barcode reader?

For example:

Code 128: ]C00006027501

The data is filtered out to 0006027501

Code 128:]C10100304096729242

The data is filtered out to 0409672924

Since the string lengths vary however the symbology type is the same, would it be possible to create a filter within MCA?

Thanks

Hi rman11,

You could not do this with the MCA configuration file options alone, but you could do it using the API. It would take actual integration with the SDK and some coding on your part. You would probably want to do a callback with data action, where you would register a function within your application to receive a callback from the SDK, which would include a scanned barcode anytime the barcode button was pressed and their application had the focus. You could then perform any logic you wanted to the barcode before using it in your application.

Hi Steve,

Is there anything within MCA that allows for the user to modify, and filter barcode data that has GTIN?
We are testing multiple barcodes that have different string lengths as well as different information for GTIN.

Thanks,

Hi rman11,

Same answer as above - you could not do this with the MCA configuration file options alone, but you could do it using the API.

In the MCA configuration file you can do the following:

MinLength
MaxLength
ScanTimeoutMS
UseBarcodeKeyPresses
BarcodePrefix
BarcodePostfix

Thanks,
Steve
