Is it safe to assume the state of cells outside of the valid grid are dead?
i.e. Cell (0,0), (0,1) and (1,0) is already ways dead, as the first valid cell location is (1,1).
I have just had a read of the Wikipedia entry for the "game of life" and it says that some people imlement the universe as a torus (like asteroids, go off the top com back on the bottom).
Is this allowed? It would give different results.
Yes, assume that the state of cells outside of the valid grid are dead. Sorry for delay in our reply.
