Intel Amplifier XE 2011 beta Hotspot Analysis in VS2008/Win7

Hello.

The Intel Amplifer XE 2011has beenan outstanding tool to id hot spots and to fix scalability problems whenrunning parallel code. However, under my current development platform (VS2008/Win7), it requires to run VS2008 in an elevated mode (admin) or the tool fails to log into the kernel.

Has anyone a way around this?

Regards,

As I know Intel VTune Amplifer XE 2011 has its standalone application, so the usercan work this tool withoutusing Visual Studio integration mode.

Thank you Peter. That isan effective workaround indeed!

One observation, though. On install, shortcuts for stand-alone access to Intel Parallel Studio XE 2011 componentsare not createdon the start menu, asit reads on the documentation.
