To the victors go the spoils!

Good afternoon Game Developers!

This is the forum post youve all been waiting for since the contest launched last fall! This years Level Up had a number of improvements to the contest including a sponsorship from Valve Software to get the winning demos featured on Steam.

The contest had over 200 entries, resulting in 147 game demos from 35 countries. You guys have raised the bar on this competition. The winners should be incredibly proud that they have prevailed amongst a pool of great game demos. Those who did not win should not be discouraged or take it as a sign that your demo was not liked continue to raise the bar and participate again!

o Casual Game: DIVO from Logic Droids

o Educational Game: Atooms to Moolecules from BitSits Games

o Puzzle Game: Splice from Cipher Prime Studios

o Shooter: MilitAnt from Xibalba Studios

o Simulation: Imagine Earth fromSerious Brothers

o Strategy (tie): Plutonic Repulse: A Tale of Limerence from blackcowstudios

o Strategy (tie) The White Laboratory from Tao Xin

Judges Choice Winners

o Best 3D: ThunderWheels from G-Boot Games

o Best Art: Beatbuddy from Threaks

o Best Character: Trash TV from Lawrie&Co

o Best Physics: ThunderWheels from G-Boot Games

o Best Sound: Beatbuddy from Threaks

The winning demos will be shown in the lobby of Nokia Theater at the Video Games Live concert during E3 in Los Angeles, CA on the evening of June 6. Simultaneously, Steam will have these available for download!
