Error During launch

Error During launch

Hi, There is an app that I am beta testing for, it kind of comes up with their weird error. I will reproduce the steps that finally give me this error. Click on Download After Installing, I click on Launch option in the AppUp Store The app launches, the app has a button called Start When I click on the Start Button, it gives the error message File Not found, reinstalling the app might resolve the problem But when I locally run it from Desktop or from Program files menu, it launches fine. Based on others apps this looks like packaging issue, have not had a chance to check the package myself with ORCA, will update with any errors I get. Do let me know if i am looking in the direction, any suggested fixes for this problem will be great. Cheers! Rohan

Praveen,

As Brian mentioned above, have you been able to go through the links that he provided: http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/article/troubleshooting-validation-failures

It looks that some of the links in your application are not properly set. This might be one of the main reason you may be having this issue.

Rooven,

Unlike the issue stated by praveen, i am unable to launch my app through the launch
button in appup client. It is interrupting with a Runtime error.

Since by then the app is installed,it is playing fine from the desktop shortcut.
What could be the reason for not running through the launch button from
appup client and running from desktop shortcut.

Please help me in this regard as i am just 2 days away from my official launch.

Thank you in advance

Regards
Sid

Rohan,

You are looking in the correct direction. It is a shortcut issue, most likely a resource your application cannot locate because the start-up path is different than expected.

Please have a look here:

Rohan,

Lets look one step backwards. How are you creating your MSI? Is it similar to this?

@ Brian,

I have a similar case with little difference. I am able to download &Insatlled. When click Launch from Appup, app does not launch and I do not see any Errors.... What might be the issue.

Praveen
