WSXGA (1680*1050) on 82915G/82910GL Chipset

WSXGA (1680*1050) on 82915G/82910GL Chipset

I have a 82915G/82910GL Chipset and wish to use a WSXGA (1680*1050)monitor with it.

It is capable of up to 2048*1536 but does not provide WSXGA (1680*1050) specifically.

Will Windows XP drivers be updated to cover 1680*1050?

How can I get 1680*1050 on this chipset?

thanks

For more complete information about compiler optimizations, see our Optimization Notice.

Try using MonInfo to tell us what your monitor's characteristics are, specifically EDID. If we can get EDID, or there's a Linux Modeline for your specific monitor out there, we can most likely get this set up for you.

I have attached a file with the EDID (Analog).

It took a while as the VideoSeven V7 R22W02 monitor is Plug and Play, hence unable to see EDID using MonInfo.

thank you

Wow, nice. Haven't seen anyone actually obtain the EDID specs before. Kudos!

is the DTD you want. Follow the Wiki with this and your troubles should be over. Hopefully. Come back if you need further help. I'm not going anywhere.

SUCCESS !!! Archibael, many thanks for sharing your knowledge.

The file igxp32.inf was modified...

[NonEDIDMode_AddSwSettings]
HKR,, TotalDTDCount, %REG_DWORD%, 1
HKR,, DTD_1,%REG_BINARY%, 21,39,90,30,62,1A,27,40,68,B0,36,00,D9,28,11,00,00,1C,37,01

Intel's setup.exe was then run to re-install the driver (with modified .inf) and the PC restarted.

Your wiki was the perfect find for my issue, may you be appropriately rewarded.

Request to Intel: Please add 1680*1050 to the standard resolution set, most monitor manufacturers now have 20" or 22" monitors with this resolution.

Request to VideoSeven: Please provide an .INF file (or at least link to this) on your support siteto benefit your clients.

regards
Thomas

My reward is watching people succeed at overcoming silly driver issues. I'm in this for the karma. :)
