Connecting a Remote Ubuntu* Target System

With the Graphics Frame Analyzer, you can test your OpenGL/OpenGL ES* frames against a remote Ubuntu* target system.

To connect a remote Ubuntu* system for analysis:

  1. Run gpa_player on your remote Ubuntu* target system. By default, gpa_player is located in the opt/intel/gpa/FrameAnalyzer directory.


    For security reasons, gpa_player only accepts connections from whitelisted host systems. To enable the connection, do one of the following:

    • Specify your host system IP address in the GPA_IP_WHITELIST environment variable. GPA_IP_WHITELIST can contain multiple IP addresses, in a comma-separated format.
    • Provide the host system IP address using the -i or --white-ip command-line options when launching the gpa_player.
  2. Run the Graphics Frame Analyzer on your host system.
  3. In the Open Frame Capture window, click the button and enter the IP address of the remote target system. If you specified a custom port number with the –p/--port option when launching the gpa_player, add this port number after the IP address, separated by a colon. Optionally, you can also set an alias for the remote system:

  4. Click the button to save the remote player configuration.
  5. Connect to the remote system by selecting it from the list of players in the Toolbar.

    If the connection is successful, the Open Frame Capture window displays the list of frames compatible with the connected target system. Otherwise, you can see a corresponding error message.

To disconnect the remote system, simply select another system from the list. If you need to re-connect, remember to re-run the gpa_player on the remote target.

To remove the remote system from the Toolbar, hover the mouse pointer over the system thumbnail and click the Close button that appears in the top right-hand corner of the thumbnail. Confirm your choice by clicking Yes on the thumbnail.
