Intel® Platform Analysis Technology (Intel® PAT) is a set of platform monitoring, tracing, and debugging capabilities. Intel PAT is designed to enable diagnosis, debugging, and optimization of software, firmware, and hardware on Intel® architecture-based platforms.

Tools from Intel and other companies build on this technology to help tool developers, software developers, and OEMs deliver higher quality, better performing products with faster time to market.


Intel® Platform Analysis Library (Intel® PAL)

The Intel® Platform Analysis Library (Intel® PAL) is a software framework that exposes platform analysis capabilities in a consistent manner across different platform architectures, product generations, and operating systems. Providing a consistent set of APIs, this framework simplifies access to Intel’s platform monitoring, tracing, and debugging hardware.


Intel® Architecture Capabilities

Intel PAT hardware capabilities include:

  • Platform monitoring capabilities to provide performance, power, and resource utilization data
  • Tracing capabilities to provide deep insight into system and software execution
  • Debugging capabilities such as run control, JTAG connectivity, and Direct Connect Interface (DCI) for closed chassis access
