DEFINE BUTTON

Create a new user-defined button in the user toolbar.

Syntax

DEFINE BUTTON [/OVERWRITE] name "text"

Parameters

/OVERWRITE

Redefining an existing button causes an error message. It is possible to redefine a button using the option /OVERWRITE. In this case, only a warning message appears.

name

The button name. The following restrictions apply to name:

name can only be 1 word. For example, main

Special characters such as “(” are not permitted.

text

The command string to be sent to the command line processor.

Description

This command creates a new user-defined button in the user toolbar. Whenever this button is pressed, the command string text is sent to the command line processor. Refer to Escape Sequences if you want to pass special characters.

DEFINE BUTTON step "step\n"
DEFINE BUTTON break "SET breakpoint at "
DEFINE BUTTON Assem "SET language assembler\n"
DEFINE BUTTON /OVERWRITE Assem "ASSEMBLER\n"
