Flash Memory Tool

Board

In the Board field you can select the board configuration. A board configuration file (extension .fcf) specifies the settings that are used to burn a file into the flash of the target platform.

Flash

In the Flash field you can select one of the flashes on the selected board.

Data File

The Data File field specifies the data file to be transferred to the flash memory. Clicking the Browse button right of this field opens a file browser where you can choose a data file.

Offset in Flash

The Offset in Flash field specifies the image offset of the data file.

Burn as binary File

Intel®-Hex-Record, Motorola* S-record, and Windows*-CE-Binary images are automatically detected and decoded. If you want to burn a copy of the image file into the flash (without decoding), check the Burn as binary File check box.

Erase affected Blocks

If the Erase affected Blocks check box is checked, the affected blocks get erased automatically. If it is not checked, the debugger assumes that the affected areas were erased earlier or that you wish to merge the new data with the existing data on a bit by bit basis.

Burn

Clicking the Burn button starts burning the selected file to the flash. While burning the file, a progress bar in the lower part of the dialog box shows the status of the burning process.

Verify

Clicking the Verify button runs a test to verify whether the burn process was successful.

Close

Clicking the Close button closes the Flash Memory Tool dialog box.

Help

Clicking the Help button opens the online help.
