Locating the Samples Files

During installation, Intel Advisor installs zip files for the Intel Advisor samples into the following default directories:

OS/Processor

Default Installation Path

Windows* OS for IA-32 architecture systems

C:\Program Files\Intel\Advisor XE\Samples\en\C++

C:\Program Files\Intel\Advisor XE\Samples\en\C#

C:\Program Files\Intel\Advisor XE\Samples\en\Fortran

Windows OS for Intel® 64 architecture systems

C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Advisor XE\Samples\en\C++

C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Advisor XE\Samples\en\C#

C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Advisor XE\Samples\en\Fortran

Locate the compressed zip file. Use an appropriate tool to extract the files to a writable directory on your system.

To use the Visual Studio interface, double-click the solution (.sln) file, such as  stats.sln in the stats subdirectory to launch Visual Studio and open that sample program.

To open a sample from Visual Studio and specify its startup project:

  1. Use the Visual Studio File > Open Project/Solution menu item.
  2. Navigate to the location of the desired sample and double-click the solution (.sln) file.
  3. Select the start-up project by right-clicking its name and selecting Set as StartUp Project from the context menu.
These steps extract a copy of a sample and launches it in the Visual Studio environment.
