Overview of the Summary Window, After Running All Tools

After you run the Suitability and Correctness tools, click the Summary button to display the Summary window to view a concise summary of each site's predicted performance (Suitability) information and data sharing (Correctness) problems. It also displays a summary of the profile information collected by the Survey tool.

A count of the detected annotations appears, as well as parallel site information collected by the Suitability and Correctness tools. The Summary window shows the most time-consuming hot loops found by the Survey tool.

The Potential Program Gain lines summarizes the potential gain for the whole program, as well as the modeling parameters in parentheses. To change the modeling parameters, use the Suitability Report, All Sites pane.

The data for each parallel site under the column Maximum program gain summarize the predicted performance data collected by the Suitability tool. To display the Suitability Report window, double-click a line under the Maximum Site Gain column.

The Correctness Problems column summarizes the predicted data sharing problems collected by the Correctness tool. To display the Correctness Report window at the corresponding parallel site location, double-click a number under this column.

This information provides a high-level summary of the collected Survey tool data. The Loops listed are the ones you have or should consider for parallelism. Typically, you should include the call to a hot loop as well as the calling function itself within a parallel site.

To access more profiling details, view the Survey Report window by clicking one of the links in the Function column.

Below the high-level data collected by Intel Advisor tools, you can view the Collection Details for each tool as well as Platform Information for the system. Links under Collection Details allow you to display the Application Output, Collection Output, and Command Line windows for each tool. Before you can click the link to view Application Output, select the appropriate Intel Advisor option (see the help topic Choosing Application Output).
