Toolbar: Suitability Report

Suitability Source window layout

Use the command toolbar on the right side of the Suitability Report window to launch the Intel Advisor Suitability tool and collect data, launch Suitability without collecting data (Start paused), resume collecting data (previously paused), stop analysis/collection, or cancel analysis/collection. This toolbar appears during data collection and also if there is no Suitability Report data for the selected startup project.

Use This Button

To Do This

Hide side command toolbar or Show side command toolbar

Hide or show the side command toolbar. If it is hidden, click Show side command toolbar to view the command toolbar's buttons. Hiding the command toolbar increases the width available to view the Suitability Report data.

Collect Suitability Data

Launches the Suitability tool, runs your target executable, and collects data. The Suitability tool uses the annotated code regions executed by your target to predict your program's parallel performance.

Start analysis with data collection paused

Launches the Suitability tool, runs your target executable, but does not collect data. This lets you skip collecting data for program initialization. If you click Start analysis with data collection paused, the button appears in place of Collect Suitability Data.

Temporarily stop data collection while the target continues to run. This allows you to skip uninteresting code regions. If you click or Start analysis with data collection paused, the button appears in place of Collect Suitability Data.

Resume data collection that you previously paused.

Instead of manually clicking the and buttons, you can insert the Pause Collection and Resume Collection annotations around uninteresting source code region(s).

Stop target execution, analysis, and data collection. Finalizes the partially collected data, and displays the result. This button is enabled when the collection is in progress

Cancel the target execution, analysis, and data collection. Discards the collected data and skips finalization. If present, a previous Suitability tool result reappears. This button is enabled when the collection is in progress.

After target execution and collection, finalization prepares the collected data for display. If needed, you can stop finalization. The collected data is retained.

To continue finalization, close the Result tab and re-open it.
