USSE Vertex Load

The USSE Vertex Load metric represents the percentage of the time that the Universal Scalable Shader Engine (USSE) is processing vertex instructions.

Improving Performance

Use the USSE Vertex Load metric in combination with the TA Load metric to help improve performance. For example:

  • If the TA Load metric is high but the USSE Vertex Load metric is low, then the scene might have too many vertices.
  • If the TA Load metric is low but the USSE Vertex Load metric is high, then the Vertex Shader might be the performance bottleneck. Use the USSE Vertex Load metric in combination with the USSE Total Load metric to ascertain how much of the overall compute time is being spent on Vertex processing compared with other work. Try to convert vertex attributes to floating point values to decrease the USSE Vertex Load metric.
