XFCE Desktop Environment

The Reference Operating System for IoT build includes the XFCE library to provide the following services:

  • Windows manager
  • Desktop manager
  • Panel
  • Session manager
  • Application finder
  • File manager
  • Setting manager

By default, XFCE automatically launches when the OS boots. XFCE also supports additional components such as remote display server.

Hardware acceleration for the X Desktops is provided by the Direct Rendering Infrastructure 3 (DRI-3.0).

User console and export

To put terminal in the workstation:

DISPLAY=:0
xfce4- terminal
