Bluetooth Overview

The Intel® Joule compute module includes an Intel ® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 adapter. The adapter has  Dual mode Bluetooth® 4.2 enabling BR/EDR - Low Energy protocols, supports Bluetooth® Core Specification Version 4.2 with provisions for supporting future specifications. It also supports Bluetooth® Class 1 or Class 2 transmitter operation.

Reference Operating System for IoT includes the BlueZ stack and various utilities for debugging.

Please refer to Wireless Connectivity for supported Bluetooth profiles. bluez5 removed support for the HSP/HFP profiles (telephony headset for TeamSpeak, Skype, etc.). You need to install PulseAudio (>= version 6) or another application that implements HSP/HFP itself.

Note: Wireless GUI is not included in the Ref-OS-IoT image to save space. You can load an open source solution if you need one.
