With the introduction of WinRT, a native set of APIs for Windows 8* Metro style app development, you might not consider developing in C#. However, Microsoft did a great job providing a first-rate experience for C# developers building Metro style apps.
The compiler only provides the Intel® Cilk™ Plus runtime as a DLL or shared object. There is no static .lib or .a version.
In a specific code, involving AVX code and compiler's runtime stack check routines, the compiler emits erroneous code which leads to a malfunction of the runtime stack check routine (_RTC_CheckStackVars). The executed program terminates prematurly.
Attempting to run the 64-bit binary built with Intel® Compiler and Xcode* 3.2.2 or newer on an OS X* 10.6.3 32-bit kernel results in a segmentation fault.
Run-time crashes can be slow and hard to debug. Use compiler options to get more information about such failures before starting time-consuming interactive debugging.
Third party applications trying to ship Intel® compiler runtime libraries run into a problem with the paths the runtime libraries use by default.
Applications built with -xHost may produce: "Fatal Error: This program was not built to run on the processor in your system" due to the processor not supporting the SSE instructions the application is built for.
Diagnostic 7654: When the RUNTIME schedule type is specified
Diagnostic 7489: Implementation of PPD keymode RUNTIME is deferred.
Diagnostic 5452: A BARRIER directive appearing here can deadlock at runtime.
