Spatial Awareness Wearable
What is the SAW Project About?
The Intel® RealSense™ Spatial Awareness Wearable (SAW) is a project using Intel® RealSense™ cameras to enable spatial perception and understanding through non-visual feedback. It was originally conceived as a navigation supplement to assist the visually impaired with navigating cluttered spaces. It is growing into a community of researchers and developers who are seeking to assist and augment human capabilities for contextually navigating physical and social space in the world.
The project includes code samples and reference designs, as well as clothing and 3D-printable templates for reproducing the current form factors produced by the team. This project is an ongoing research project within the Experience Design and Development (xDD) team with Intel’s Perceptual Computing Lab.
