It’s time to migrate to the Intel AMT SCS 7.0

As you probably have noticed, there are great posts about the Intel AMT SCS 7.0 (check this or this for example). This post is not about all new features, it’s just a look to the previous 5.X version to see the benefits of migrating.  The 7.0 version has been available for some time, but there are always environments where AMT systems (and AMT infrastructure) aren’t changed frequently. This is not just an AMT/SCS related issue, maybe some of you have seen Windows XP systems working around.

Making AMT 7.0 a little easier

OK - I'll admit it. Enabling for AMT is probably not the easiest part of your day. It's a pretty tricky technology that requires a bit of persistance. But I can assure you that if you find a spot to integrate AMT into your application, you'll never regret it. It's part of my job to make available to you all the tools and resources you'll need to get AMT integrated into your application. With the latest release of AMT - AMT 7.0 I decided to try something a little different. I grouped all of the primary tools, documents and videos into a single web page.

  • FAQ for Intel® Active Management Technology Management Pack 3.0 for Ops Mgr/Essentials

Is AMT support in Ops Mgr/Essentials in the form of an Add-on like for SMS?
It is very similar. In the Ops Mgr/Essentials the term used is a management pack, but it is indeed a plug-in adding AMT capabilities, which is similar to what the SMS add-on does. Of course, our management pack has a different set of capabilities.

    Is it free?
It is indeed free. All you need to do is download the installer from our website and run it.
