Intel Ultimate Engineering Experience

HTML 5 and JavaScript

During the second weeks of IUEE in Portland, Oregon we got a chance to go through "app academy". In this 2 week session we got to get exposed to many new programing languages as well as different functional for them. We were arranged in groups prompted to create a game using the new coding skills we had acquired during the sessions.

Intel IUEE Hackathon Day 1

My first day at the IUEE Intel Hackathon

Hi, my name is Sonia Gupta and I am a senior at Westview High School. I'm an intern at the Intel Ultimate Engineering Experience (IUEE) Hackathon helping Paul Steinberg, Brad Hill and the student mentors.  I am also getting a better insight into the field of software development. Learning HTML and CSS is a very interesting experience for me because I am going to college next year and I am trying to figure out my major and this hackathon is a very effective way for me to do that.

IUEE Hackathon (Sacramento)

The Intel Ultimate Engineering Experience Hackathon just wrapped up for the Sacramento group, and boy did we have a great time. I never thought I could get so much done in just ten days! The assignment for the hackathon was to create a game using HTML5, which nobody in my group of six had any experience with. In fact, most of my teammates had very little programming experience. However, we did not let this hold us back. This made the experience even more rich. Myself and one of my teammates were able to grasp the basics of HTML5 quite quickly.

Intel Ultimate Engineering Experience '13 - Code for Good Hackathon - Arizona Community College - ALPHA

The IUEE hackathon continues, & the students almost all have their apps in alpha.  They worked together very hard to get their apps to this point.  They used online resources to learn what they need & asked us facilitators when they got stuck.  Through their perseverance, they made apps that work for the most part.

Summer 2013 IUEE HTML5 Experience Day 1

Our team is ' Seal Team 6 ' .  We are a team of five coming from many different educational back grounds. We have a mechanical, two electrical, and two computer engineering majors. We all have different programing experience. Our mechanical engineer has no experience with computer languages, but is very enthusiastic and excited to learn. One of our computer engineering majors has taken classes in HTML5, Java , C++, C and Prolog. Our other computer engineering major has only fromal training in Java and C Sharp, but is self taught in several languages including HTML5 and CSS.

First Day of Intel Ultimate Engineering Experience, App Academy @ Chandler-Gilbert Community College

Today was the second week of the IUEE@CGCC in Chandler, Arizona. We are learning how to create an HTML 5 app from the business plans our teams formulated during our first week of the program. The format of the App Academy portion is that of a hack-a-thon.

While I miss having Hannah and CJ leading our group (WORD!!! CJ, Hi Hannah!) I am very excited for the chance to learn from Paul, Tom, and all the other App Academy mentors. I am very appreciative of this chance to experience this entire program.

Intel Ultimate Engineering Experience '13 - Code for Good Hackathon - Arizona Community College

We are in another Code for Good Hackathon, this one is part of the Intel Ultimate Engineering Experience [IUEE].  From June 10 - 20, Contra Costa College students fly to Chandler Gilbert College, a community college in Arizona.  We are facilitating 2 separate hackathon there.  In each hackathon group, there are 9 teams, each with about 6 people; there are around 120 people total in these hackathons.  This is the 1st time we participated in a hackathon at this scale.
