Intel Compilers for OS X "can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer"

Summary:  Users of OS X 10.9 Mavericks may have difficulty using the Intel online installers.

Affected versions:  Intel Composer XE 2013 SP1, Intel Composer XE 2015 Beta  ONLINE INSTALLERS ONLY.
Quick workaround: download the full (non-online) package and install from that .dmg file.

Symptoms:  While opening the .mpkg package for the compilers, a warning message appears with the message "m_ccompxe_online_*.mpkg"  or "m_fcompxe_online_*.mpkg" can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.

  • Diagnostic 15143: loop was not vectorized: loop was transformed to memset or memcpy

    Cause:

When a code contains a loop or array syntax performing a simple initialization or a copy, the compiler may replace the loop with a function call to either set memory (memset) or copy memory (memcpy).  It is usually more efficient to replace these simple operations with a memset or memcpy function call. This diagnostic informs us when the compiler has chosen to call a function to replace the loop or array syntax.
