Intel® VTune™ Performance Analyzer

Intel license manager for FLEXlm on Windows issue: not a valid counted license


Problem : 
I have installed Intel license manager on my Windows OS server, however, I got the error as below when I started Intel license manager for FLEXlm: "The file you selected is not a valid counted license. Please select a different license file." Can you help me to fix this error?

Resolution : 

To work around this issue, please do the following:
1. Open a cmd prompt window
2. Run this command in the cmd prompt window:
copy /y "%CommonProgramFiles%\Intel\FLEXlm\chklic.exe" "%TEMP%"

    NOTE: only use this method if you are unable to uninstall the software using the provided uninstall_vtune.sh script, typically located in /opt/intel/vtune/bin.
