IPP 4.1 support for RH7.3

Got a customer with problems on smp computer running RH 7.3. Note, I cannot confirm that IPP is a problem or not. I notice that RH 7.3 is not listed as a supported OS at

Cannot cleanly shutdown after application usage. Most other customers also running RH 7.3 and same application, no problems.

Question: Is IPP 4.1 supported for RH 7.3? Application is built with ABI glibc 2.2.4-26 and gcc 2.96-108.1.

I read the documentation, but I'm still having a hard time understanding how the jpeg2k functions work. Could someone help me? Maybe post a veeery simple example of compression/decompression?

By the way, what does the parameter magnBits mean, in the function ippiEncodeLoadCodeBlock_JPEG2K_32s_C1R?

How to get the I-frame and P-frame in MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 format video?

I am new in IPP,
I try to do some applications in compress domain.
So I have to get the I-frame and P-frame in MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 format video.
I have read the document,but there are too many functions to let me feel confused.
Is there any sample to get the I-frame or P-frame using IPP?
or someone can give me an suggest to do this?


why ippiMatchTemplateGetBufSize return 0 ?

Could anyone point out whatgoes wrong with the following code?

the returned status indicates no error, butbuffsize is already 0. I wonder if there is restriction on the roi sizes.

Get pictures from firewire camera with opencv under linux


i want to use my firewire-camera with opencv, to retrieve
live pictures. this is my code, put the output is everytime

can you help me?

How do I use the Canny function?

I am using the Canny example (slightly modified) from Taylor's book on IPP and it does not work. The following is a brief listing of my code please tell me if you need more information I can post it. Please keep in mind that I am very new to IPP and hopefully this is an obvious problem. The result of the edge detected image is shrunk to 1/3 and the colors are off. Please help!

Problem with 1D wavelet transform PR.

I have a problem concerning the implementation of 1D wavelet transform in IPP.
I am using orthogonal wavelet transform with 4-tap (db2) filter coefficients.
The problem is that I am not able to get the perfect reconstruction.

For input signal:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
i reconstruct:
6 7 8 1 2 3 4 5
I am using periodization for boundary extension.

I set the delayline in the following way:
