Take a short look at the Embree Ray Tracing Frameworks from the show floor at SIGGRAPH 2017! Embree is a collection of high-performance ray tracing kernels, that are optimized for photo-realistic rendering on the latest Intel® processors with support for SSE, AVX, AVX2, and AVX-512.

Hi. My name is Carsten Benthin. I'm one of the core developers of the Embree software ray tracing framework. I'm here at Siggraph and showcase, again, two application scenarios for the Embree Ray tracing kernels.

Embree is a collection of high performance ray tracing kernels optimized for Intel architecture. It is widely used and adopted in the industry. [INAUDIBLE] basically wanted to speed up their rendering. And by using the Embree ray tracing kernels, they get the latest and greatest features of the Intel architecture and the highest performance on these architectures. Using the latest Entree ray tracing kernels, we achieve interactive performance for highly complex scenes, as shown here in the above demo. 

And also, we show interactive to real time performance on fully dynamic scenes, as shown here in this demo. Here, you can see the ray tracing of fully dynamic content. In this demo, we cover the physics simulation to the Entree ray tracing kernels, and view ray trace two million fully dynamic triangles per frame at roughly 25 frames per second. 

In this demo, we showcase that we can interactively ray trace highly complex geometry. This scene has millions of instances and over three billion triangles. And we can render this on the latest Intel Xeon platinum server architecture with more than one frame per second. Thanks for watching.
