Visualizing Big Data and Massive Data Set Rendering at Research at Intel Days 2013

Intel Visual Computing Institute (IVCI) Director of Research and Operations Thorsten Herfet and researcher Alexander Schiewe demonstrate new techniques in visualizing Big Data. Exploring incredibly detailed images such as medical scans, geographic maps, or scientific simulations helps experts discover hidden insights and solve real-world problems. However, the time it takes to render them can be prohibitively slow, particularly on mobile devices. To enable rendering over the device continuum the IVCI has developed hybrid rendering technologies that adapt to and optimize the rendering for various end devices and their network connectivity. This video demonstrates technologies from the Intel Visual Computing Institute that render massive images. Learn more about Research at Intel 2013. To learn more about these research projects.
