Intel® VTune™ Profiler Installation Guide for Linux*

You can install Intel VTune Profiler as a stand-alone product or as part of:

  • Intel® Parallel Studio XE
  • Intel® System Studio
  • Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit (Beta)
  • Intel® System Bring-Up Toolkit (Beta)


Intel® VTune™ Amplifier has been renamed to Intel® VTune™ Profiler starting with its version for Intel® oneAPI Base Toolkit (Beta). You can still use a standalone version of the VTune Profiler, or its versions integrated into Intel Parallel Studio XE or Intel System Studio.

Use the steps in this guide to install VTune Profiler on your host system. To install on a remote target system, set up special configurations, or install sampling drivers, see the Intel VTune Profiler online User Guide.

Choose and Download

Visit the Download page to get a copy of VTune Profiler. You can download the full standalone version of VTune Profiler or get VTune Profiler as part of Intel® Parallel Studio XE or Intel® System Studio.

Basic Installation

You can install Intel VTune Profiler using the graphical user interface or the silent installer.

Virtual Machine Installation

Intel VTune Profiler can be installed and used with a variety of virtual machines. For more information, see the Targets in Virtualized Environments page of the online User Guide.
