Exporting an Apple iOS* P12 Certificate File

This page walks you through the process of obtaining an Apple iOS* p12 (Personal Information Exchange) certificate file using Apple Keychain* Application on your Apple OS X* development system. You need to export this file before you use the Intel® XDK Debug tab while your app runs on an Apple iOS* mobile device. You first need to generate your Apple Developer Certificate(s) before you can generate a p12 file.

Instead of following these instructions on your Apple OS X development system, you can instead use the Intel XDK Debug tab to guide you after you connect your iOS mobile device.

Start the Apple Keychain* Application

1 - On your Apple OS X* development system, start the Apple Keychain* application by opening the
Applications folder and choosing the Utilities option.

Export the P12 Certificate File

2 - Select the Apple certificate to be exported.

3 - Click File in your Apple menu and select Export Items from the drop-down menu.

4 - In the Save As field, enter a name for the Export p12 file.

5 - Enter a password for your p12 file (1 character minimum for importing this file into the Intel XDK Build system). Click OK.

Next Steps

Copy the downloaded p12 file to your development system so you can use it when requested by the Intel® XDK Debug tab after you configure your iOS mobile test device(s).
