Configure an Intel® Galileo Board for IoT App Development

This page provides links to information on how to setup and configure your board to work with the Intel XDK for developing IoT apps. Links to useful background information, datasheets, drivers and OS images are also included.

To assemble your Intel® Galileo board and connect it to your host, see the appropriate instructions for your host system:

Note that you don't have to connect a Wi-Fi adapter to your board or connect your board to a Wi-Fi network. In this example, you'll connect your Intel® Galileo board directly to your host with an Ethernet cable.

Notice that there are two distinct kinds of Intel® Galileo board with different sets of instructions: Gen 1 and Gen 2. A Gen 2 board will have the “Gen 2” printed on it, while a Gen 1 board will have only “Galileo”, as shown below.

After you've assembled your board, connect an Ethernet cable from your computer to the board. An Ethernet connection is needed to connect the Intel® XDK.
