Changes to the RSS Feeds for ISN Communities

Hey, everyone. Just a quick post to let you know that there have been some changes made to the RSS feeds around our Intel Software Network communities. No action is required on your part - this is just FYI. The changes all happened on the back end, and should be tranparent.

Did you know that besides this blog, there are several Communities that make up Intel Software Network? You can see them all at Each one of the four communities (Mobility, Multicore, Manageability, and Open Source) has its own page, articles, and RSS feed. Two things have changed.

First, we used to use Tumblr to "blend" different RSS feeds into one, so you could see new community articles, related blog posts, etc. in the RSS feed. Tumblr is a really cool service, which I still use for my own "life stream" and linkblog, but we didn't like the way it took you to an intermediate page when you followed a link from the ISN feeds, so we are no longer using Tumblr. That's the first change.

Second, we're rolling out a brand new Content Management System (CMS) for the articles and content on the ISN community pages. The new system is "code named" Redfort, and generates its own RSS feeds (which is a huge improvement over the way things were done before, trust me!). So now, the RSS feeds for the main ISN page and the communities simply show you the articles and pages that are published from Redfort.

The feed URLs are exactly the same, so if you were already subscribed to the feeds, you don't have to make any changes at all. If you weren't subscribed, and don't want to feel like you're missing out on all the awesome stuff that gets published on ISN, make sure your favorite aggregator knows about these feeds:

These are all linked off of the main ISN page with the familiar little white-on-orange feed icons, so if you forget them, just go to

Let me know if you have any questions or see any problems with the feeds, and enjoy! :-)
