Windows Server 2008 R2 - Workstation License?

Given the considerable interest in using Windows Server 2008 as a workstation operating system would it make sense for Microsoft to license the software for workstation use?

With Windows Server 2008 R2 sharing the same kernel as the Windows 7 client operating system what are the benefits of using Windows Server 2008 R2 as a workstation operating system?

The major reason I use the Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems on a notebook and desktop workstation is because of the virtualization capabilities provided by Hyper-V.

Would you continue to use the client version of Windows or would you consider using Windows Server 2008 as a workstation operating system? What would be the reasons for your decision?
