Update to the Intel Atom Developer Challenge

Update to the Intel Atom Developer Challenge

Just wanted to make everyone aware that the recognition and reward elements of the challenge have been reset as of today to better align with the Intel Atom Developer Program software development kit (SDK) release and development cycle. The 100 netbooks for the first 100 validated netbook applications will be awarded December 7, 2009 through February 2, 2010. The two prizes of a “rock-star treatment” trip to CES on January 7, 2010 are pushed out to a comparable industry event in first quarter 2010, the San Francisco Game Developers Conference on March 9, 2010. The next round of contest prizes and schedule will now be announced at the San Francisco Game Developers Conference on March 9, 2010. The alpha version of the Intel Atom Developer Program software development kit (SDK) for Microsoft® Windows® (C and C++) and Moblin™ (C only) is now available for download at http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/sdk. Additional runtimes and development languages will be supported in future releases of the SDK. The features of the alpha SDK include authorization, crash reporting, and a consumer store client emulator for testing. You can test and debug today and then when the beta version of the SDK is available later this year you can submit your applications or components to complete your entry to the Intel Atom Developer Challenge, http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/contest/developerchallenge, and also take full advantage of the program's revenue-generating opportunities, when the app stores start opening in early 2010. For details about the challenge, please refer to the official rules at http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/contest/officialrules. Thanks, Tonya
