Hello, for anyone interested in bug fixes, and goings on with QtWebKit - the html5 engine the encapsulator uses I've done some research... Here is the QtWebkit page with announcements: http://trac.webkit.org/wiki/QtWebKit Here you can see the release notes for the 2.2 series. http://trac.webkit.org/wiki/QtWebKitRelease22 They do releases roughly every week. Here is the last release 2011-09-29. So there is much to rejoice for encapsulator developers! http://trac.webkit.org/wiki/QtWebKitBuildBots Here is the list of features in QtWekbit2.2: http://trac.webkit.org/wiki/QtWebKitFeatures22 I can see the encapsulator version of webkit is more than one year old now (QtWebkit 2.0). Which in web browser years is 70 years ;) QT 4.8 has not been released yet, but is 'close'. They just froze translation strings on Oct 4th. http://labs.qt.nokia.com/2011/10/04/qt-4-8-0-string-freeze/ The QT team do not have a public release date set(that I could find), and seem to work on a when it is ready basis. However the QtWebkit team do weekly releases, and have continuous builds being done all the time. The last encapsulator update for QtWebkit was Friday August 26, 2011. https://wag-appdeveloper.intel.com/wag/wagui#attributions (click on release notes accordion down the bottom, there is no direct link that worked). The encapsulator does not seem to have a public roadmap(that I could find), but they seem to do releases once a month. To me it sounds like good news. My initial feeling about the encapsulator was fairly bad, since fonts and sounds don't work - which really are required to make games. But now I see a major update could be around the corner, and that makes me very hopeful for the future. I'm going to continue with my second app, and release my first one once fonts and sounds are working (or maybe I will do an update later and release without fonts and sounds). I hope this research is helpful to someone else. cheers,
