During the second weeks of IUEE in Portland, Oregon we got a chance to go through "app academy". In this 2 week session we got to get exposed to many new programing languages as well as different functional for them. We were arranged in groups prompted to create a game using the new coding skills we had acquired during the sessions.
So my first blog gave a little bit of information about me and my experience with web development and how I got started with intel. The first experience I had was with the Intel Ultimate Engineering Experience when they went to Arizona. The unique experience was after the event, when I was invited to be a student mentor with some students from Contra Costa Community College. So far it has been a very interesting and very rewarding experience.
Day 3 at the IUEE Hackathon
My third day at the IUEE hackathon was a bit less eventful than my first 2 days. Like before, the main room was crowded with participants looking forward to a day of learning how to build game, but had less need for mentors. I decided to take advantage of Ashish's bootcamp tutorial on how to program a game using HTML. This was a great opportunity for me to learn how to build a beginner game.
My first day at the IUEE Intel Hackathon
Hi, my name is Sonia Gupta and I am a senior at Westview High School. I'm an intern at the Intel Ultimate Engineering Experience (IUEE) Hackathon helping Paul Steinberg, Brad Hill and the student mentors. I am also getting a better insight into the field of software development. Learning HTML and CSS is a very interesting experience for me because I am going to college next year and I am trying to figure out my major and this hackathon is a very effective way for me to do that.
IUEE (Intel Ultimate Engineering Experience) Phoenix 2013
IUEE Phoenix 2013 has now come to its inevitable close... And despite strong wishes that it would continue, many students went into the program hoping to continue evolving from this experience long after the official six weeks had came and went.
The Intel Ultimate Engineering Experience Hackathon just wrapped up for the Sacramento group, and boy did we have a great time. I never thought I could get so much done in just ten days! The assignment for the hackathon was to create a game using HTML5, which nobody in my group of six had any experience with. In fact, most of my teammates had very little programming experience. However, we did not let this hold us back. This made the experience even more rich. Myself and one of my teammates were able to grasp the basics of HTML5 quite quickly.
Our team is ' Seal Team 6 ' . We are a team of five coming from many different educational back grounds. We have a mechanical, two electrical, and two computer engineering majors. We all have different programing experience. Our mechanical engineer has no experience with computer languages, but is very enthusiastic and excited to learn. One of our computer engineering majors has taken classes in HTML5, Java , C++, C and Prolog. Our other computer engineering major has only fromal training in Java and C Sharp, but is self taught in several languages including HTML5 and CSS.
