Уважаемые читатели и авторы русскоязычных блогов Сообщества Разработчиков Intel, с сентября 2012 года блоги работают на новой площадке - Intel Developer Zone (IDZ), используют новый "движок", дают новые возможности, и, к сожалению,.... новые баги. Так, в течение нескольких недель вместо русскоязычных блогов на соответствующей странице IDZ отображались блоги на английском языке, а RSS-подписчикам однажды даже довелось получить посты на китайском языке. Существуют проблемы и с отображением блогов и с их созданием. Хотя их число постепенно и неуклонно уменьшается, но пока оно больше нуля.

clEnqueueCopyBufferRect crashes with access violation in cpu_device32.dll

I have several calls to clEnqueueCopyBufferRect to copy data between two device buffers.

After a few calls, I get a crash with an access violation.

I am using the 2014 beta sdk, targetting my Intel i7 cpu.

Here is a code snippet:

A Parallel Stable Sort Using C++11 for TBB, Cilk Plus, and OpenMP

This article describes a parallel merge sort code, and why it is more scalable than parallel quicksort or parallel samplesort. The code relies on the C++11 “move” semantics. It also points out a scalability trap to watch out for with C++. The attached code has implementations in Intel® Threading Building Blocks (Intel® TBB), Intel® Cilk™ Plus, and OpenMP*.

    EELive show and Galileo Demo

    At the recent EElive show and conference in San Jose I built a Galileo demo based on the Muzzley.com github code. The Galileo board mounting holes are aligned very closely with Legos stud spacing, so I decided to use that as the basis for the demo.  I have colored cables, that matched my Legos collection, as you can see in the photos below.

    Resolving Symbols for Intel® Manycore Platform System Stack (Intel® MPSS) in Intel® VTune™ Amplifier XE Analysis

    Background

    Whenever Intel VTune Amplifier XE is unable to resolve symbols for libraries or the operating system, it lumps all the counts for that module together. Often, these lumped counts end up at the top of the hotspot list, skewing the analysis. By setting the correct search library path in an analysis, you can help Intel VTune Amplifier XE further resolve the counts into its constituent functions and thus rank them appropriately.
