Работа с экранной клавиатурой в desktop приложениях

Поработав некоторое время с Windows 8 на планшете и ультрабуке с сенсорным экраном я столкнулся с одной интересной особенностью. При работе с полями ввода в десктоп приложениях экранная клавиатура не появляется автоматически, приходится каждый раз вызывать ее путем касания ее значка в системном лотке, а потом закрывать нажатие на крестик в правом верхнем углу.

Оптимизировали, оптимизировали, да не выоптимизировали!

Оптимизация? Конечно, каждый сталкивался с данной задачей при разработке своих, сколь-нибудь значительных, требующих определённых вычислений, приложений. При этом способов оптимизировать код существует огромное множество, и, как следствие, различных путей сделать это в автоматическом режиме с помощью опций компилятора. Вот здесь и возникает проблема – как выбрать то, что нужно нам и не запутаться?

    Using Parallel Studio XE Pro V16.0 update 1 on Windows 7 Pro x64. Visual Studio 2013 (v120)

    I have a test program written in C++, and compiled with Intel C++. This program allocates some arrays, initializes them, then calls a DLL written in Fortran. The Fortran DLL also performs additional allocations/deallocations. I am experiencing an issue where I observe intermittently some memory corruption (usually at the beginning of an array).

    Internal error with Intel xiar 2016 on linux 64-bit

    Hi everyone,

    We are currently using Intel Parallel Studio XE v2016.1.056 which embeds "Compilers and libraries" v2016.1.150 on CentOS 64-bit and we encountered a problem with the xiar tool.

    The issue should be reproductible by calling: 
    $> xiar rb object1.o lib.a object2.o
    That prompts "xiar: internal error: Assertion failed (shared/driver/linker.c, line 6832)" whether or not the ".o" and ".a" files exist or not.

    Compiling the runtime on Cygwin


    I tried compiling the runtime on latest Cygwin w/ GCC 5.3, but ran into some errors which are solved with the patch below.

    A few of the code samples do work well under Cygwin (e.g. Fibonacci), but some don't (cilk-reducers-demo never finishes). Unfortunately I'm at the limit of my debugging skills and time to figure out why.
