  • Failed to configure driver: unknown error. Failed to open driver. When try manually install HAXM for Android Studio

When I start AVD manager in Android studio. It tells me that :

"emulator: ERROR: x86 emulation currently requires hardware acceleration!
Please ensure Intel HAXM is properly installed and usable.
CPU acceleration status: HAX kernel module is not installed!"

Then I go to file location to install HAXM manually. in the middle of installation, it pops up a window says:

"Failed to configure driver: unknown error. Failed to open driver"

There are some solutions online but nothing works. I have attached log. Is there anyone can help me?

    Can't install HAXM

I'm currently trying to install HAXM to use the AVD emulator in Eclipse

    I've tried:

    • Enabling the VT in the BIOS, restarting and trying again
    • Installing the newest version of HAXM from the Intel site.
    • Disabling Hyper-V

I've rebooted multiple times and checked the BIOS where VT is enabled

I also couldn't find Hyper-V in my Windows Features so it isn't installed

I'm trying this on a Windows 8.1 64-bit HP Envy Laptop

    Intel i7 Processer, 8GB ram

How can I build custom Android ROM for Dell Venue 8 (3840) with Intel System Studio as indicated in FAQs?

I've downloaded and installed the Intel System Studio 2015 Update 1, and am now trying to build an ROM image for the Dell Venue 8 (model 3840 - Merrifield), and I just don't see any reference to how to build this full OS image. Am I missing something here? Was expecting the System Studio install to include the MDK per the FAQ tab on this page:

Anyone any ideas what I'm missing?
