Get pictures from firewire camera with opencv under linux

Hello,

i want to use my firewire-camera with opencv, to retrieve
live pictures. this is my code, put the output is everytime
"failed."

can you help me?

(the camera is pluged into the firewire port)

How do I use the Canny function?

I am using the Canny example (slightly modified) from Taylor's book on IPP and it does not work. The following is a brief listing of my code please tell me if you need more information I can post it. Please keep in mind that I am very new to IPP and hopefully this is an obvious problem. The result of the edge detected image is shrunk to 1/3 and the colors are off. Please help!

Problem with 1D wavelet transform PR.

Hi all,
I have a problem concerning the implementation of 1D wavelet transform in IPP.
I am using orthogonal wavelet transform with 4-tap (db2) filter coefficients.
The problem is that I am not able to get the perfect reconstruction.

For input signal:

i reconstruct:
6 7 8 1 2 3 4 5
I am using periodization for boundary extension.

I set the delayline in the following way:

Need help with inverse FFT

I'm in the process of converting from older signal processing liobraries (I think ISPL 4.5), and having some troubles with generating an audio sample with reverse FFT. With the old libraries to generate, let's say for simplicity, 1Khz toneI used to zero a buffer, fill it with a value at [ 1000 * FFTSize / SamplingRate * 2 ], and then ran nspdRealFft( Buffer, FFTOrder, NSP_Inv ). That did it, the sine wave was there. The new libraries changed a lot in the FFT department, so whatever I do don't seem to generate a sine wave but rather some bizzare distortedsignal.
