The objective of Perceptual Earth Facts is to give the user general statistics about the world and countries. All countries are represented into a globe and colored depending on the category the user selected (for instance Total Population or Human Development Index). This could be considered as an educational software.

Características destacadas: 

One main concept used by the application is the equivalency between inputs. When possible, the user should be able to interact using standard inputs (mouse + keyboard), finger and gesture tracking, or voice recognition. Finger Tracking and Gesture Tracking is a very used feature ; it allows the user to zoom / unzoom, rotate the globe, select countries, select an item inside a country / fact list, control a fingertip (mouse equivalent using finger tracking). It is also used on the exit window confirmation: thumb up for yes and thumb down for no. Voice Recognition is also a very used feature ; the user is able to select menu or trigger button by saying its label, to select countries or jump to a specific year. The software use Face Tracking in order to perform small rotations (if the user moves his head right / left, the earth rotates).The user can disable / enable each module through the option button at the bottom of the screen. Our application exhibits the rich contents of an encyclopedia, by means of the technology of augmented reality and Intel PerC SDK. 3D models and animations are mixed together with video from real world, which provides the users a brand new way of interaction with virtual world. Users can interact with virtual objects by body movements, hand gestures, voice and touch. This great experience of digital exploration through an encyclopedia takes the children to the appealing unknown world.

Uso de herramientas y SDK Intel: 

The app uses the augmented reality to show how a dinosaur grows and lives on a common table, and leverage Intel PerC SDK functions to allow the user to interact with the 3D objects in more nature methods, e.g. touch the dinosaur with a finger, hold it on the hand, create a scene with different hand gestures, make dinosaur look at the user using face recognition, and even speak to the dinosaur using voice recognition.

Características destacadas: 

Augmented Reality is used to support the effect of 3D virtual objects overlaid on the table surface. Unity3D is used to render the 3D scene and develop the app logic; 3DMax is used to create the 3D models used in the application.

In the process of development, we have used Intel GPA testing tool to diagnosis and debugging our program. It sends back the visual feedback of CPU and GPU service situation in real time, so that to make the debugging more quickly.

Características destacadas: 

The standout features of our app is the optimization of performance. We leverage 3D real-time rendering technology, the oil paint is generated by particle system, and the real physical characteristics of particle occupy certain CPU resources, since there is a large number of particle, we need to optimize this module with more necessity. We reduce the number of particle by using 3D chortle and control the particle shape.

It is a brand new game experience -- PSG (Perceptual Social Game). By leveraging Perceptual computing technology, it is an immersive social game, which allows players to experience between reality and virtual world, human and machine as well as interpersonal. It is an interactive multi-player 3D social game by leveraging PerC, synchronizing with real-world information, (ie, weather/day & night), as well mapping their face into the characters.

vrDRUMS is a unique, interactive virtual drumset that lets users play the drums with their hands while sitting in an immersive and interesting 3D environment. vrDRUMS combines the finger tracking functionality of the creative camera + SDK with the immersive capabilities of the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset. To experience vrDRUMS, the user puts on the virtual reality headset to see everything in 3D, immersive virtual reality. Instead of simply looking at a drumset on a computer screen, the user can look around and see the drumset surrounding them. This gives a better sense of the location of the various drums, and makes the user feel like they are actually sitting at a drumset. To play the drums, the user holds out two fingers and strikes the drums as you would in real life - swinging your hands down. Combining these two immersive/interactive technologies creates a unique and engaging experience for the end user. Additional instructional features can be activated to playback prerecorded rhythms - highlighting which drums to hit and in what order. The user can then try to mimic the computer to learn the new drum rhythm. The user can also select multiple environments - from a suburban garage practice space, to a full stage. These features can be controlled with voice commands using the voice recognition capabilities of the camera, so the user doesn't need to take off the Rift headset or fumble around for the keyboard/controller.

Tools and Technology:
vrDRUMS was built in Unity, combining the Intel Perceptual Computing SDK with the Oculus Rift SDK. All scripting was written in c# using the default Unity script editor. Autodesk Maya was used for 3d model creation. Adobe Premiere was used to edit sound files.

This application builds on the concept of interaction with a 'virtual pet', but explores the rich interactivity and feedback made possible through the Perceptual SDK. The user creates and becomes familiar with their virtual pet, maintaining parameterized attributes (such as hunger, happiness, discipline, health). The pet's stats are stored and persist between sessions, so that long-term care and development become a part of gameplay, creating a sense of attachment between the user and the virtual pet and encouraging long-term replayability.

Tools and Technology:
The app is built in the latest version of the Unity3D development environment (4.2), written in C# on a Mono implementation of .NET. 3D assets are created in 3D Studio Max and Maya 2014. Textures and GUI components are developed in Adobe Photoshop.

As as simulation, the experience needs to look and feel 'real' to the user, allowing the user to become emotionally invested in the virtual character's well-being. Concepts for how to encourage this suspension of disbelief involve exploring the 'augmented reality' capabilities of rendering the character in an environment composited into the camera's video stream, allowing the user to see themselves and their pet in the same environment. The ability to utilize hand tracking data allows the player to pet, discipline, or play in ways that offer real-time feedback.

"Ufo Killer" is a fun-styled cartoon first-person shooter where the player has to protect his herd of sheep from incoming UFOs which want to steal them. The purpose of the game is to shoot down as many as possible UFOs and gain the highest possible score. The game is done with Unity3d and all related technologies like C# programming language, 3d models are done in 3ds max and some graphics in Photoshop.

User could play this game without keyboard and mouse. Perceptual gesture recognition allows to do all necessary actions after application is run. With gesure Big5, for example, user could start the game. And game process are controlled by hands. Two hands control direction of the machine gun and opened/closed fingers control fire.

This is a game where you control the Dustman to catch the throwing garbage and put it to a specific type of trash bins; But be careful don't catch something that you can not catch :) The game uses both gestures and face analysis. We develop this game beside for having fun but also to teach people to dispose trash in its place and help the environment.

In "The Catcher" Game we use Gesture And Face Analysis. There will be 3 different types of control in this game: Catch and drop: here we use our hand (x position & y position) to catch (Open or Close State) the trash and drop the trash to the right trash bin, there will be 2 type of trash organic and non-organic Dodge: Dodge the bomb, control it with your face left and right (Face Location Data x position)to move the character left and right (note : at first i want to use a landmark data yaw,roll,pitch. but when i try, it always return '0' so i use the location data.) Collect:Collect dropped coin with your hand ( position x, position z).
