Problem with Dbgl license

Problem with Dbgl license

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right forum to post this, I know very little about the products but have been asked to look into a license management problem we are having.

User is using the Intel Compiler studio products on his linux box. It seems that the Dbgl feature from the license server isn`t working for them. Would you be able to advise as to what might be going wrong.

The user is getting the following error

>>>>>> [jd12g09@uos-10450]~> which idbc

>>>>>>> /local/software/intel/composerxe-2011.4.191/bin/intel64/idbc

>>>>>>> [jd12g09@uos-10450]~> idbc

>>>>>>> Intel Debugger for applications
running on Intel 64, Version 12.0,

>>>>>>> Build [74.923.2]

>>>>>>>

>>>>>>> Error: A license for DbgL could not
be obtained (-1,359,2).

>>>>>>>

>>>>>>> Is your license file in the right
location and readable?

>>>>>>> The location of your license file
should be specified via

variable.

order):

>>>>>>> **
2.
/local/software/intel/composerxe-2011.4.191/licenses

>>>>>>> **
3. /opt/intel/licenses

>>>>>>> **
4. /home/jd12g09/intel/licenses

5.
/Users/Shared/Library/Application Support/Intel/Licenses

>>>>>>> **
6.
/local/software/intel/composerxe-2011.4.191/bin/intel64/*.lic

From the license server log files I can see the following error. The user is picking up a license but then immediately handing it back.

>>>>>> 11:22:28 (INTEL) OUT:
"IB87C5F90" jd12g09@uos-10450

>>>>>> 11:22:28 (INTEL) OUT:
"DbgL" jd12g09@uos-10450

>>>>>> 11:22:38 (INTEL) IN:
"IB87C5F90" jd12g09@uos-10450

>>>>>> 11:22:38 (INTEL) IN:
"DbgL" jd12g09@uos-10450

>>>>>> 11:23:19 (INTEL) OUT:
"IB87C5F90" jd12g09@uos-10450

>>>>>> 11:23:19 (INTEL) OUT:
"DbgL" jd12g09@uos-10450

>>>>>> 11:23:21 (INTEL) IN:
"IB87C5F90" jd12g09@uos-10450

>>>>>> 11:23:21 (INTEL) IN:
"DbgL" jd12g09@uos-10450

We`ve tried the software on some other machines and it seems to be working correctly.

Many Thanks

Hello Mike,

What version of Linux, and glibc are on the user's system? Also, is it a 64 or 32 bit system, and what are the environmental variables LM_LICENSE_FILE and INTEL_LICENSE_FILE set to?

Could you attach a copy of the license file from the user's machine and the license server? Be sure to attach the files rather than copying and pasting their contents, because copying and pasting can occasionally mask the issue.

Finally, set INTEL_LMD_DEBUG to /tmp/licensecheckout.log on the users system and attempt to check out the license.Attach the resulting log, licensecheckout.log, to your reply.

Be sure to mark your reply private. Some of thefiles I've asked for contain sensitive information

Annalee
