we do not get any answer. there is no any roadmap, no announcements.

yes "vak". we do not get any answer!

time goes nothing happens

I wanna know how Intel can test X3000 HW T&L function, if they do not develop a driver to support the function at a same time. If they did not test it, how can Intel ensure X3000 hardware design being correct? ....

I have been surfing Tom's Hardware and I found this:

http://www.tgdaily.com/2007/03/08/gdc2007_intel_g965_integratedgraphics/

This means the new driver will be out soon.

Intel is currently developing and validating drivers for the Intel G965 Express chipset that support hardware T&L and vertex shader functions for both the Windows* XP and Windows Vista* operating systems. Beta versions of these new drivers are targeted for download availability within the next 3 months with a production version planned later in 2007. See : http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/intelg965/sb/CS-025665.htm

wot about 945 nad 915??? :( plz if 915 doesnt support vista aero, then plz atleast release some drivers that support ht&l and hardware vs so that the existing games requiring xp can run fine!!!plzzz

I don t think 945 and 915 chipsets have support for hardware T&L or hw vs since the capability for it must be physically present in the chip so its just software T&L for those chipsets. from what I know x3000 was the first Intel IGP to introduce HW T&L(at least in theory because all we know till now is pure speculation and those supposed beta drivers that keep getting delayed and end up never gettingreleased)

As forX3000 drivers I grow tired of waiting, I used to think that Intel was a reliable developer in which I could trust to invest money in its products, but all these driver screw-ups really changed my opinion. Buying hardware that is half a year old and that still doesnt have drivers to run at what its supposed to is just buying a marketing idea, and right now I feel thats what I paid for: a marketing idea that will probably only be functional when I wont need it anymore. So till then Ill be able to watch just what this IGP is capable of my windows desktop, my text based applications, some videos (without the clear video because that would be asking too much) and little more. For my next pc I know what to do... and it has nothing with both the wordsIntel andintegrated. This opinion is shared with a lot of people and there are some sites that already state the failure that was the poor delivery of drivers for the g965 series IGP, so when it comes it wont be such a big deal it just wont matter anymore. Right now Im only waiting for the dx10 generation Nvidia cards so I can finally enjoy some of the capabilities that Intel bragsabout x3000 having, and finally be able to play those old games for DX8and DX9 that the x3000 isnt even able to run and also the new DX10 games.

Only the Intel G965 Express Chipset Family supports hardware Transform and Lighting (T&L) and hardware Vertex Shader 3.0.

See : http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-011910.htm

Sorry. 915 and 945 not support hardware T&L and hardware Vertex Shader.

Even X3000 will support HW T&L, youmay disable it!

Why don't Intel publish the driver? Only3 reason;

1. They did not develop the driver before! So they cannot ensurethat X3000 HW T&L is works or not! X3000 may not support HW T&L!

2. They had developed the driver! It dosen't work properly or the preformance is not acceptable!

3. No one know ~ Please tell me if someone know the answer~

2. is the correct answer. As some Intel people have pointed out, there are drivers out there, but they're still working on tweaking the performance, as in some cases the HW T&L is using more CPU than doing it in software. Beta HW T&L drivers will be out in the next three months or so for the public to test, apparently.

In my opinion the biggest problem here is that by now we should have a fully working driver, and what we have is the promise of a beta driver in 3 months. In 3 months what will we get? Another promise? Another release date? Even if performance isnt what it should be, having HW T&L should at least improve compatibility and thats my major issue right now.

Actually, I have bought a graphic card. It is a good example to show what "Project failure" is! Intel starts to developa fully workingdriver of the product after they sold it to public! X3000 may not provide reasonable preformance,so intelavoided theHW T&L function.

NVidia will release it's Geforce 8600 series in April.I think I wait for that and buy a card from that serie. They got there drivers ready so far as I know.

Oh~please don't promote otherproducts in this forum~they met the basic requirement to be a responsibly producer only. It is thier responsibility to providea fully working driver, when they sellthe productto consumers.

and there goes another month, in still gessing that in 2 months no beta will have been released. should a petition be started or something like that? saw that idea in a forum and though it might be agood option. http://www.petitiononline.com/

or we could just keep replying to this until the "article viewed" hits like 50,000... maybe that'd get their attention. :) I just want to get the drivers that played call of duty at GDC. then i can run/test demos off the DirectX10 SDK in vertex hardware and not software. give us crashing drivers. i dont care if i gotta reboot every 3 hours.

Thats why sooner or later somebody in that crazy USA should sue them so all get there rights

Still no T&L drivers! Guess I'm looking for a *REAL* Gfx adapter from a serious manufacturer now... Wothless flop.

At least if you got a DG965WH-like board you have a pci16 slot for an ATI R600 cheap $99 DirectX 10 board. :)

Yeah I have hte 965MQ (it is a ubtx mobo) which has a pcie 16x but the problem now is to put something powerful in it it cant handle the extra slots on thecase as required by more power cards now as the int graphics ports get in the way and now way would I chop of the end part.

I think I'm gonna just screw dx10and finish all apps/games i write for the next 3 years in dx9. That way i can go pico-itx and have full dx9 SM2.0 support with low power and still play Quake 3. By then the current$600 decent dx10 cards will be $99. Then I can play Crysis and Doom5. :)

There was some news a couple of weeks ago at Tom's Hardware regarding development of beta drivers for the X3000 series.

http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/31176/135/

It's a real shame that Intel can't get its act together with updated drivers. The delays show the IGC business is not their strength.

We are about 14 days from the end of the 3 months given by Intel on beta drivers and still no drivers released. I guess the within 3 months ETA is probably going to change in 14 days.

It would be good to see some kind of response from Intel on this matter since they were so helpful with the 915 vista issue, and since we are days away from the end of their estimate 3 months date.

I recently built myself a new PC based on a mobo with GMA X3000 gfx. I fell for the hype and thought it would be able to play modern games. Now having read everything here i feel like a fool and it would seem intel have conned me. I actually still believe that this chipset is capable of great things when compared to any other onboard gfx, but only if the appropriate drivers are ever released.

I'm now considering spending 90 on a Gfx card (probably a 8600GT) so i can play some recent games. Are there any reasons why i should give intel two months(at least) to redeem themselves?

Cause he have hope!?!

And yeah the 8600 series was one that I was looking at to get as well just dont have the money for it yet.

Today is officially the last day of the 3 months...

Is it time for Beta driver to be available...

My guess is either:

A) They have the capability to put the driver out, but would rather have us drop another ~$100 on a new motherboard to get G35. The code base for the driver has to be very similar, and that driver should definately have DirectX 10.0.

B) They have lame driver engineers and can't get it to work without crashing every 30 minutes in Vista, which I doubt at this point.

Can't someone just find an email of one of the driver beta-testers, or in house developers, and have them just give us the real reason to stop speculation, make developers happy and allow us to start savingfor the new motherboard?

Which do you think it is DirectCPP?

C)They are under-resourced and their driver engineers (lame or not) have been prioritized to focus on what is perceived to be more important issues for their big customers (Dell, HP, IBM) instead of what their end-customers might consider to be higher value items (like HW T&L and HD DVD/Blu-ray).

The drivers will be out for G965, not just G35; of that I am confident. Whether they are there in what the end-customer considers a decent timeframe is the question. Some would argue that has already expired.

I'm sure it looked trivial to them when they planned G965 HW T&L for January 2007, and then they got roped into "must-fix" bugs for GM965, G33, G35, and whatever other flavors showed up between then and now. I'm not trying to make excuses for them, but I don't think there's a conspiracy going on. I think they're a victim of their own design schedule coupled with a lack of resources.

just in case anyone missed it, here is a great article regarding the driver issue:

http://news.zdnet.com/2100-9584_22-6184483.html

Yeah I do think so as well as practically of of the major hardware manufactueres have had vista issues to different exents though so why dont they release a xp hardware transform and lighting driver :P j/k i dont see it coming out anytime soon sadly which is a shame when you ahve been going with intel for a very long time (the old and legendary 386 !!!!!) so I do wich they could release something even a simple beta I am not expecting a huge performance for hardware wise I just need that capability as some games wont simply even run (cnc3 simply wont go even with 3d analyse etc even the old game nolf2 wont run :X ). As far as they say about video performance what ram and cpu are they using ?!?!?! as I have had no problem what so ever with slow fps for Ultra HD video.

Another side note is when I was enquiring about getting a mobo I couldnt get an answer from intel about H t&l so i emailed other companies such as gigabyte and they did reply but they couldnt give me a straight answer on the current (at that time) working features of the x3000!

So yeah another disapointment (no beta drivers what so ever and the time has passed for them so we wait again and get another date that probably would go by) and in all fairness even with being with intel for so long I probably would have done a switch if it werent due to the core2duo's so intelcount yourself lucky for that!

Oh and please release something not keep it for a few more years!!

thanx for the update.

although i could not get it to work.

i've tried with driver version 14.27, 14.29 and 14.31 and AGP Texture Accleration is Not Available as reported by dxdiag.exe, so there is no Anti-Aliasing or other gfx features enabled in games.

i also tried version 15.4 in Vista and AGP Texture Acceleration and AA and other features were enabled and there was a visible difference.
why dont the drivers work in windows xp though?

have they worked for anyone else here?

i am not able to play spiderman 3 game,it starts normally and when it proceeds futther to the menu page(when it is loading to the menu page) i get a blue screen with an error

The error was following:
***STOP: 0X00000008E(0XC0000090, 0X004B4BD8, 0XEE25885C, 0X00000000)

Beginning dump of physical memory.
Physical memory dump complete.............contact system adminstrator, etc.

What does it mean? How can I prevent it?

Any suggestions will be helpful.

Did you look at the list of games that were validated with this driver?

Battlefield* 2
Battlefield* 2142
Call of Duty* 2
Elder Scrolls* IV: Obliviion
Vanguard*: The Saga of Heroes
Command and Conquer* 3: Tiberium Wars
Supreme Commander*
Rainbow Six*: Vegas
Age of Empires* 3
Far Cry*
Final Fantasy* XI Bench 3
Unreal Tournament* 2004

And did you read this?

"Testing on additional titles or benchmarks is not recommended and is outside the scope of this release."

so do u mean that any other game other than the listed ones do not work

the driver still doesnot support hardware transform and lighting... so some games wont work and some may work.... try some hardware analysis software such as everest to know what ur driver supports

I dont think agp acceleration would ever be available in dxdiag.... i read some info about that in this community...

As you see below its been out before I slagged intel off!!

Sorry intel!!

Ver.#Date10.document.write("Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Pre-Beta Driver")Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Pre-Beta Driver(17354KB)14.316/1/2007

i have tested some big games in sytemrequirementslab, they resulted to work on my system but when i try them some of them work and some of them wont may be the full version of the driver will satisfy all those games

well...think again..

http://www.designguru.in/dxdiag2.jpg

this is on Windows Vista Ultimate with X3000 driver version 15.4.
running NFS Carbon i could get Anti-Aliasing and shader support so H/W T&L are being utilized.

i think it's only a matter of time before the fully working drivers for Windows XP are released. the pre-beta release that enables the shaders are a good indication.

My system cofiguration is

Dg965RY motherboard
p4 3 ghz (ht)
1gb ddr2 533mhz
seagate 160 gb sata2

with the 14.31 driver now i am able to run nfs carbon very smoothly with an avg of 20fps
fps for nfs most wanted also increased to 20-25 fps so with the complete driver we can get an excellent performnce boost!! no doubt about that!!!

The following is the list of gaming titles
that have been validated with this graphics driver for playability.
Individual performance may vary depending on system configuration and
game settings. Testing on additional titles or benchmarks is not
recommended and is outside the scope of this release.

Battlefield* 2
Battlefield* 2142
Call of Duty* 2
Elder Scrolls* IV: Obliviion
Vanguard*: The Saga of Heroes
Rainbow Six*: Vegas
Age of Empires* 3
Final Fantasy* XI Bench 3
Unreal Tournament* 2004

They have decreased the number of games that have been validated with the pre-beta driver.

Well Rainbow Six*: Vegas is not playable i can get in through menus settings and all but wen i start new game the loading screen comes and the pc restarts before beginning the game

Any one else tested this game?

The good thing is that it probably means games that are taken off the list runs on the G965 well enough. We don't see games like Quake 3 and WoW there, but those games have no problems. From the initial tests Command and Conquer 3 and Far Cry runs well(no idea about Supreme Commander). One reviewer says 14.31 driver improves Far Cry performance by 2x at 1024x768(10 to 20 fps).

New Beta Drivers for Windows Vista and XP are available : 15.6b and 14.31b (for support : HW TnL and HW Shader Model 3.0)

Yeah the previous beta drivers made some of my old games like bf1942 with the mod DC final crash after a while but oh well it allows me to run games like Company of Heroes Nicely and even run CNC 3 :D

hi my name is zohaib
i recently bought dg965 express chipset board and install latest driver for windows vista 64 bit ulltimate i-e GMA X3000
in DXDIAG it shoes total video memory of 246 instaed of 384 mb
not even 256mb
and kindly tell me which games are supported by it and how can i increase my total VIDEO MEMORY
AS I HAVE 1 GB OF RAM

In XP, you can get 384MB with any kind of memory. Because of performance concerns with Vista, you won't get 384MB until you hit 1.5GB of main memory or more.

Is the new beta driver for vista only for 32 bit?
