Introducing Intel Ultrabook™ – Part One

In all my years in college I have used a laptop PC. Recently, I’ve been tempted to get a MacBook Air Pro because of its light-weight and stylish look. But, since starting at Intel, I’ve been able to explore and play with an Ultrabook and it has changed my mind completely. The reason is simple: Ivy Bridge Ultrabooks are just amazing! Ultrabooks will be even more amazing when you add the touch screen capability of Window 8 later this year.

Teaching Parallelism Using Intel Game Demos

The first column in this table shows the parallelism topics. The second column displays the Intel Game demo that a professor can use to demonstrate that particular parallelism topic. The third column are the page numbers to the book: "The Art of Concurrency" written by Clay Breshears.

You can download the Intel Game demos from the Intel website for your classroom use.

Basic Parallel Programming Concepts (VTU)

The primary objective of this chapter is to make students understand the concepts of parallel programming. The chapter is dealt with as an extension to C programming so that the student develops an insight into writing parallel programs. This chapter does not intend to teach any in- depth concepts of Operating System, Computer Architecture, threading etc, but only introduces the relevant concept wherever necessary.

Parallel Architecture for Games Using the Smoke Demo

This courseware explores how to support and overcome the challenges of parallelism in the context of a computer game. This module introduces a parallel framework on which to build threaded scalable games. The overview includes both an introduction to parallel frameworks as well as a hands-on demo. The game demo was specially developed by Intel to demonstrate how take advantage of all CPU cores available within a system.
