Intel for Android* Developers Learning Series #11: OpenGL ES* Support, Performance, and Features for Android* on the Intel® Atom™ Processor

1. Introduction

The standard API for 3D graphics on Android is OpenGL ES, which is the most widely used 3D graphics API on all mobile devices today. Android uses OpenGL ES to accelerate both 2D and 3D graphics. In early releases of Android, OpenGL ES acceleration was somewhat optional, but as Android has evolved and screen sizes have grown, accelerated OpenGL ES has become an essential part of the Android graphics system.

I have just started learning more about Intel XDK. I am loving it and Connie Brodie's lesson was brilliant. Unfortunately she is missing just one video on how to release that app on google play, how does one create an icon that’s linked to the whole app. So that when users download and install the app they get the icon automatically?

Thanks Connie your tutorials are the best and very good. Keep it up.

    Intel® Developer Zone at Microsoft //Build/ 2014

Software developers by the thousands visited the Intel Software booth at the sold-out Microsoft Build conference April 2 – 4 in San Francisco’s Moscone Center. They were able to learn about how the Intel® Developer Zone provides world-class  knowledge, tools and support for Windows 8 cross platform apps.

Trouble connecting Atom device via USB

I'm using Beacon Mountain for Windows on Windows 7 SP 1. I installed the Android USB driver for Windows version 1.1.5 which comes with it.  When I connect the cable Windows sees the connection and tries to install driver software but does not install the "Android" device and so I cannot push my app to the device to test it.  (Eclipse does not see the device.)

I have tried removing the device driver, reinstalling it, rebooting in between, just about every combination of hoops that one normally jumps through with this, and nothing is working.

    Samsung Galaxy 3 Issue

Hi Everyone - new to this forum.  I am using Construct2 to develop a "shooter" type game - everything works fine - even testing it on my Andriod phone using "preview on Lan" component within Construct2.  When I generate a "Build" using XDK - I get the following message when trying to run it on my Galaxy 3:

"Unfortunately XXXXXXXXXX stopped."  where xxxxxxxxxxxx is the name of my app.  Android OS is 4.2 - Samsung Galaxy 3

    Has anyone gotten this message?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
