Intel® XDK Installation Instructions for Microsoft Windows*

1 - Open JNLP File

After download, locate and open the XDK.jnlp file.

2 - First Time User?

If opening for the first time, you will see informational screens showing the progress of the download.

3 - Run XDK(Click check box)

On the following dialog box, be sure to check "always trust" box before clicking the "Run" button.

There is a Chrome Extension available for starting the Intel XDK, if preferred.

Chrome Extension Notes:
When you start the Intel XDK from the Chrome extension you may see the message to the right -- this is normal. Select the "Always run on this site" option.


Installation Instructions for Apple OS X*

1 - Download DMG

After download, locate and open the intel_xdk.dmg file.

2 - Install XDK App

On the following screen, drag the Intel XDK logo to the applications folder icon.

3 - Locate XDK Application

Locate the Intel XDK in your applications folder to start.

4 - Locate XDK Application(Click check box)

On the following dialog box, be sure to check "always trust" box before clicking the "Run" button.

There is a Chrome Extension available for starting the Intel XDK, if preferred.
Note that on an Mac, installation of the intel_xdk.dmg file (above) is required.

Chrome Extension Notes: When you start the Intel XDK from the Chrome extension you may see the message to the right -- this is normal. Be sure to check the "Remember my choice" option before selecting "Launch Application".

Intel® XDK Installation Instructions for Linux/Other OS*

1 - XDK Requirements

A Java Runtime (6 or 7) that supports "Java Web Start" Applications (Oracle* Java 7 Recommended)

Google* Chrome Browser (other web-kit based browsers may work)

2 - Research

Perform a Google search to determine how to launch a "Java Web Start App" for your operating System.

Vist the Intel XDK forums for community driven support.

3 - Run/Install XDK

On most operating systems you can launch the Intel XDK from a command prompt by typing:

javaws http://xdk-software.intel.com/distribution/XDK.jnlp

There is a Chrome Extension available for starting the Intel XDK, if preferred.

Note:
The Chrome Extension for Linux/Other OS's requires that the browser supports the loading of Java Applets.
