Firefox*: Windows* OS Help Viewer Pane is Blank When Viewing CHM file

Hello Forum:  We have noticed that the Intel® Parallel Studio XE documentation may not function correctly when accessed with the Firefox* browser.

The exhibited behavior is that the right-hand pane (reading pane) in the help viewer is blank, and this problem may well extend to other documentation collections as well.  Any CHM file downloaded from the Firefox* browser could exhibit this problem.

Flow graph queueing nodes hold input references

I have a flow graph where the objects are too heavy to pass by copy, so instead I'm passing a shared pointer to the object through the graph. What I noticed is that my deleters for some of those objects were being deferred until graph destruction because the graph nodes were holding copies, which is too late for my needs. I had expected them to hold references for only as long as those objects were active in the graph.

Level 2 data cache event counters?

Below is a list of all the event counter I have available on my Ivy Bridge CPU. It contains "L1D" cache event counters, but there are no "L2D" counters- only "L2". I was under the impression the L2 cache is split in to data and instruction caches. 

(I have read the descriptions of the below event counters and the "L1D" says "L1 data cache" and the "L2" says "L2 cache", implying it is not specific to the data cache).

What event counters should I use to measure data cache misses for L1/L2/L3, ignoring instruction cache misses?

MKL v11.1.2 link failure with scalapack

Hi,

After updating from MKL 11.0.5 to 11.1.2, I keep getting link failures on mkl_scalapack_ilp64.lib.  After some searching, I see that for 11.0.5, all mkl library files are in

   C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Composer XE 2013\mkl\lib\intel64

but after updating, I see that the mkl library files are spread across

  C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Composer XE 2013 SP1\mkl\lib\intel64
  C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Composer XE 2013 SP1\mkl\lib\mic

Seems not detect end of apllication. Report: BUG! Please contact the technical support.

I'm just taking a look at the VTune Amplifier XE and following the tutorial "Find hotspots" with my application.

After pressing the "Start" button I saw my debug messages at the terminal and the application reached its end but the VTune seems not to detect it and shows no reaction any more. If I kill it, it shows:

icpc 14.0.2 crash: internal error: assertion failed at: "shared/cfe/edgcpfe/lower_il.c", line 7661

I am using icpc 14.0.2 on Linux, here is a minimal program to reproduce the crash:

The error message is:

Different matrix multiplication results between C and Matlab.

Let covold be a matrix of size 72x72, theta be a vector of size 1x72 and meanold a vector of size 1x72. I want to compute

 

[(w-1)/w ]* covold + [ 1/(1+w) ] * (theta - meanold)' * (theta  - meanold)

 

where w=144.0.

 

I wrote a code in C and a code in Matlab in order to compare the results. I noticed that the results are different. For example the variance of the first variable is:

C: 0.001890

Matlab: 0.003690258

I would like to ask if this is normal. I attach the data and the results using Matlab (matlabcov.txt).

The data cannot be displayed: there is no viewpoint applicable for the data

I have just downloaded the trial of vTune Amplifier XE 2013 r.16 and have tried to do a basic hotspot analysis from with VS 2012.  Unfortunately all I get is the error: "The data cannot be displayed: there is no viewpoint applicable for the data".  I have attached the output below.  I think I have the project options setup correctly. What do I need to get it working?

VTune on the Intel Galileo Board (Quark)

Hello,

has anybody managed to run VTune on the Intel Galileo Board (remotely)?

I got stucked trying to build the kernel modules. Started with 'meta_clanton_v0.7.5' but I think the kernel is not correctly configured. There sme messaages about 'CONFIG_MODULES' etc. not beeing set. Finaly 'cylcles_t' is not defined and compiling stops.

Any help is appreciated!
