FAQ: how to use the sato-sdk image to make a bootable USB disk

The image size of the sato-sdk image (core-image-sato-sdk-esdc2012-20120314114151.hddimg) exceeds 1GB. Due to a known bug(https://bugzilla.yoctoproject.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2138,that has been fixed in the latest poky code) , directly doing dd the image into a USB disk can't make a bootable USB disk(it shows "No DEFAULT or UI configuration directive found"). We can use another way to cope with the issue: Please use the method mkdiskimage/mkdir/mount/cp/umount/syslinux mentioned in the below page

The name of serial port under yocto is ttyPCIH0?

Hi, I want to make a communication with serinal port. And I found just ttyPCIH1 works correctly...and if you use ttyPCHI0,then the thread you used to operate ttyPCHI0 will be blocked forever... Is pchi0 can`t be used? And BTW,build a yocto img or package(rpm) will cost a lot of time(about 9 hours and 50GB free space), is there a easy way to install someting to yocto directly? Such a chinese font or a lib? Thanks~

[Yocto FAQ]: how to setup (build and install) the ADT environment

In the DVD or the files downloaded from the website, there should be a file poky-src-to-build-yocot-linux/README.txt(please see the end of this post) Following the steps, we can build a yocto sato or sato-sdk image. Here we list the extra setps to build and install the ADT environment since we didn't supply that in the form of pre-built files. 1. "bitbake meta-toolchain-gmae", and you'll find the toolchain tarball under /home/yocto/poky/build/tmp/deploy/images/.
2. extract the toolchain tarball under the root directory "/".

I have installed ADT and configured the Eclipse,and when I build the first project it comes errors. And the console show somethings as the following:

Command-line environment variables:
CFLAGS=" -g -O0 -m32 -march=i586 --sysroot=/home/shm/qemux86-sato" CXXFLAGS=" -g -O0 -m32 -march=i586 --sysroot=/home/shm/qemux86-sato" LDFLAGS=" --sysroot=/home/shm/qemux86-sato" CPPFLAGS=" -m32 -march=i586 --sysroot=/home/shm/qemux86-sato"

which type of WLAN card is supported by the yocto

I have tried TP-LINK TL-WN321G+ (RT2501/RT2573 Wireless Adapter) but fialed

RT250 just supports linux kernel 2.4 and 2.6 (yocto's kernel is 3.0.18)

on the other side

my ubuntu11.10Linux version 3.0.0-14-genericcan support TP-LINK TL-WN321G+
