Cilk functions calling c functions

I am looking for a simple example of a Cilk function calling a c function. I tried using the example of fibonacci numbers in the Cilk 5.4.6 Guide - it did not work.

A procedure call in a cilk function must be spawned (or so said the error when I compiled the progeram code). You cannot call a c function by spwaning it from a Cilk function. There is the problem.I am assuming it is something that is very easy, but I have seen no examples. You talk in the Guide about a c function calling a Cilk function using stubs. That is good. I just want it the other way around.

Cilk-Profile, Cilk-Span

I may be in the wrong forum so please redirect me if that is the case. I am wondering when you use the Cilk-span command on a hybrid program (Cilk, plus a lot of basic c functions) which one does the span use? I have a program that is basically in c, uses pthreads, and I would like to know projected performance data for a higher number of cores. i only have a Xeon with four cores. That is as high as I can go, but I know itis possible to project performance with a higher number of cores with cilk-span.

Problem using cilkview

Hi all,

I am trying to use Cilkview for a project and I have one mysterious error :
It runs the program and then suddenly :
BUG: Unknown system metacall 6:00000000001DEA30 @ 000000018000DCF6
cilkview error: command exited with error condition: 3

Here is the command line that I used :
cilkview puzzlediff_cpp.exe 0_5mpix_boat.jpg D:\\jigs\\Puzzle_vs2010\\x64\\Debug

It seems that my program exit with a non-zero value...but it is not the case (I think...).

What is this error and how do I fix it?

Ido not know if I am in the right forum here.I tried to compile a program for Cilkview and got the following error. The output was:

cilkview error: process killed by signal -7.
E:Attach to pid 4837-failed : operation not permmited.

I was just trying to run one of the example test programs cilk-for.

I am using Ubuntu 11.04 with Cilk Arts versions:

cilkview v1, 1, 8503

cilk++ (GCC 4.2.4) Cilkarts build 8503

I am just confused as to getting an old versionof cilk++ runing with a new version of Ubuntu 11.04.

Cilkscreen error on Ubuntu 11.10: E:3.0 is not a supported linux release

I untarred Cilkscreen and Cilkview on my Ubuntu 11.10 system and tried to run the executables there. When I invoke either, I get the following error immediately and it stops running before it does anything at all:

E3.0 is not a supported unix release

I don't have a clue what E3.0 is, Ubuntu 11.10 is running on a very recent version of linux with the gcc 4.6 toolchain. I am running on an i5 4-core intel processor with ubuntu 64-bit linux version 11.10 (which was built and released October 2011)
