vtdpview error

I am seeing the following error message on the console at the end of loading sampling data.
Why am I getting this error?

vtdpview: dla_model_impl.cpp:352: void vtdla::DLAModelImpl::createFunctionIndex(): Assertion `func != 0' failed.

A problem with vtssrun

Hi everybody!

I have a problem. It seems that my vtssrun doesn't work under Linux. I have downloaded ptu 3.2 and run vtssrun in order to get a profile info for my app. I ran the vtssrun with following options:

vtssrun orig -- ./gcc expr.i

Here gcc is a statically linked application from CPU2006 suite that runs about 1-2 minute on my Woodcrest:

[build_base_o2.0000]$ file gcc

gcc: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.6.9, statically linked, for GNU/Linux 2.6.9, not stripped

Then I ran vtssview:

Reducing the amount of data collected by vtsarun

I am only interested in a single event. I presume that vtsarun captures all events, but I can't find any way of telling it to only capture the one I'm interested in. I'd like to use it over a long-running test, and given that it would produce about 1.6GB of data per hour, that might be a problem.

Obviously I could change the sampling interval, but then there would be less information in the results. It might be possible to manually set collection off using the -ec parameter, but specifying that for each event other than the one I'm interested in is unpleasant.

vtssrun seg fault

We've been using vtss successfully for a while, and recently used it with a new version of our app. In this case, vtssrun seg faults (while the application continues running).

This is the backtrace form a core file (this is representative, though I've seen different backtraces from other cores):

PTU 3.1 Update 3 crash

I used PTU 3.1 on a specific application reliably a souple of months ago. Now with the same application, PTU crashes everytime while performing a basic statistical callgraph with the default settings - hotspot analysis, time-based sampling etc. The debugger tells me the following:

Unhandled exception at 0x78144a51 (msvcr80.dll) in ismimp.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000000.

Let me know if there is any other information that I can provide. This is a great tool and I'd like to get it working again.

Thanks,

--Mark

PTU Install/Run

Hi, I was trying to get PTU running and actually downloaded eclipse as well, just to use it, but I don't see the PTU option under new project. Basically I followed the steps as directed in the install/user guide, but was having no luck. Any thoughts on what could be wrong? basically I did the following:

- Download and unzip eclipse

- Install VTune

- Unzip PTU and do the steps involved with the driver file and run install_sep.exe

- Load up eclipse and create new project

> Do not see either VTune or PTU option.

Thanks

PTU problem

I installed VTune Performance Analyzer 9.0 Build:991 in my WINDOWS PC, the pc use Intel CORE2 CPU 6300 CPU.

Then installed the PTU 3.1.

But when I run PTU to test my program, the test cann't be done and show " Driver initialization failed" error.

error logs:

Driver initialization failed
Stop request has been processed..

How to fix the problem? Can anybody give me any clue?

Thank you!
