Hello developers! We made some exciting announcements today surrounding the Intel AppUp(SM) developer challenge including submission date extensions to give you more time to develop and extended entry eligibility to OS ports. Here are the highlights:
- Best Custom App for France deadline moved to Aug. 8, 2011 (from June 27)
- Final Grand Prize deadline moved to Aug. 29, 2011 (from Aug. 15)
On behalf of the Intel AppUpSM developer challenge, we want to thank the developers who entered their applications to the “Best App to Watch and Listen” category. The judges have reviewed all entries from the pool of entrants. Unfortunately, none of the applications entered met the specified criteria outlined in the official rules for this category. There will be no winner selected for the “Best App to Watch and Listen” category.

Local Recon is a great application that shows the user, through a map and side bar, their exact distance to theaters, landmarks, curiosities, restaurants, shops, business needs, children’s attractions and more – all based on what the user’s personal preferences are.
